Method and safety precautions for water pressure testing of PE water supply pipes
The water pressure test must pass the installation acceptance of each section of the PE water supply pipe, and the pressure test can only be carried out when the soil reaches 5cm above the top of the pipe at a length of 12m on both sides of the elbow and tee. In order to prevent pipeline displacement, the pipeline pressure test criterion for this project is 0.8Mpa. After the pressure is stable, the interface is inspected, and when there is no damage or water leakage on the pipeline body, the pipeline strength test is qualified.
When testing the pressure of the PE water supply pipe, the fire hydrant is used to inject water at a low point through the fire hose, and the total water consumption is adjusted according to the essential length. When starting water injection, first open the exhaust valve, and then close the water injection valve and Wastegate to start pressure test after the exhaust valve has discharged water. After the test pipe section is filled with water, maintain a certain water pressure and soak thoroughly for no less than 12 hours, and inspect the joints for any leakage.
At the beginning of pressurization, the pressure slowly rises, and is checked every 0.2Mpa increase. When approaching 0.5Mpa, it is stable for a period of time to be checked. Open the exhaust valve for venting, and then pressurize it to 0.6Mpa. Maintain the test pressure at a constant pressure for 10 minutes before re checking. The pipeline should be inspected every time the pressure is increased, and the next step of pressure boosting can only be continued if there are no problems.
During pressure relief, reduce the test pressure to 0.7Mpa, drain the water while opening the exhaust valve, and discharge the water to the drainage point until no water is visible. Calculate the discharge amount. According to construction requirements, the required time for compaction is 1-2 days. The back of the compaction should be placed on the original soil or artificial back; When the soil is soft, square timber should be placed in front of the original soil back, leveled, and compacted to ensure overall stability of the back.
Elbows, tees, and other pipe fittings must adopt anchoring measures, and the openings of branching roads should be tightly blocked to prevent water seepage. Gate valves shall not be used as blocking plates for the test PE pipe section, and there shall be no accessories such as fire hydrants, water hammer arresters, safety valves, etc. The valve shall be in the fully open position during the test.
